Jank Crazy Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Fallon looked back at her back seat to see her daughter balled up in the fetal position.

“Dani girl aren’t you tired of this.  Do you like being in this type of pain?”

“Ugggghhhh.”

Fallon just shook her head and although she was frustrated, she still hated to see her baby in so much pain.  She could tell that her daughter hadn’t been taking her long acting insulin.  There was one type of insulin that she took throughout the day and there was one she only had to take one time around the same time each and every day.

The long acting one kept them out of the hospital regardless of how reckless her daughter was with not taking the other insulin.

Fallon looked in the rearview mirror eventhough she couldn’t see her daughter and said, “No matter how tired I am of the attitude you get when I ask if you have taken your medicine.  I have to go to the next level because for some reason you think it’s alright to lie to me when I ask you.

From now on, you at least taking the long acting one in front of me.  Do you hear me Dani?”

Danisha responded with her eyes clinched tightly closed and through a grimace, “Ahhhhhghhhh ooo hhhhmmmkay mommy.”

“Do you want these people to take you away from me?  You got me looking like I don’t take care of you.  I hope you took a bath last night and got on some clean underwear.”  Fallon shook her head and rebuked herself for fussing while her daughter was in such pain.

She quickly reminded herself that her daughter was the reason she was in pain and continued, “How many times I got to tell you that girls cannot skip days taking showers and stuff.  You do not want a reputation for smelling musty or fishy.  All them expensive clothes you wear won’t mean anything if everyone is talking about how bad you smell.

I mean how you gonna wear new clothes everyday but have on the same underwear.  I was so embarrassed the last time we were here, and you had on them nasty ass draws.”

Fallon had just recently watched the movie “Unhinged” so when the car in front of her didn’t move when the light turned green, she restrained from honking her horn the way she normally would have.

She sat there just a second longer before the person looked up and realized they had the green light, looked in their rearview mirror and held up their hand as a form of an apology.

Fallon smiled, nodded her head and proceeded to make her right turn and then the left into the parking lot of the hospital.

Fallon said, “As much as you talk about people, you got the nerve not to be taking baths every day.  I know I ain’t perfect, but at least I take baths.”

Fallon looked and saw a four door Porsche illegally parked but didn’t pay it much mind.  She was in fussing mode.  “I work hard to make sure that you have the best life possible, your father don’t care.  I don’t mean to talk about him but let’s be real.  He hasn’t been around for the last ten years.  I refuse to beg him to be in your life and you don’t want to call him either.  I get that but everything falls on me.  I’m just asking you to do what you are supposed to do girl!

I mean damn.  I think I messed you up making sure your life was better than mine.  I feel like I have given you too much.  You don’t wash dishes or keep your room clean like you supposed to.  I just don’t know where I went wrong with you Dani.”

Fallon looked at the screen in her Escalade and saw “Incoming Call from Scott Marshall”

She bent her eyebrows downward and hit ignore.  “I know goodness well he heard me tell him that I would call him back,” she whispered to herself.

“Now Dani baby mama loves you, but you have to do better.  Do you want to die?”

Danisha said, “No ma’am” through a groan.

Fallon squinted her eyes at the man that stood at the curb with the wheelchair.  She looked back at the Porsche and smiled.  “What is Bobby doing here?”
